Photo Lessons

For $50 per person or two for $75:
I am offering a 1 – 2 hour session to introduce you to basics of photography.
The lesson is most suited If you have recently purchased a new camera (point & shoot or SLR) or are tired of inconsistant results from your existing camera and would like to learn to better use your camera and its different modes. This lesson will help you to achieve that goal. You’ll not become an expert in photography but you’ll have an understanding of how things work in this field?

We’ll start with Camera controls (we might need the Owner’s Manual for this so it would be good to have it handy, as I can’t claim to be an expert on all camera models) and discuss why shooting in “Auto” is always the 2nd best option you have (if not the worst).

Once, familiar with the camera controls, we’ll use those to understand more generic photographic techniques, including:
- Exposure control (effects/use of shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings)
- White Balance (to produce pictures with the correct colors)
- Basics of Composition (portrait and landscape photography)
- Lens properties/options (more applicable if you have an SLR)

Additionally, I’ll also introduce you to some of the following advanced-level photography lesson on:
- Flash photography (using flash for side-lighting)
- Shooting the stars and Night-time photography
- Use of Depth of Field
The lesson takes a minimum of one hour but I would make myself available for at least two hours to ensure you feel comfortable with all the topics covered and any questions can be answered.
